ALERT NOTIFICATION - A "sister" Neighborhood Watch Group less then 2 miles from us reported this:
"I Just received a phone message from Cathy Doe, and she informed me that last night around 10:00 PM she had someone come through her back gate from the railroad tracks and enter their motor home (it was accidentally left unlocked) and stole her DVD player.
She mentioned that she took her dog for a trip outside, and while she was out there she thought she would check on Larry's shop. It was locked but as she was going back to the house her dog stopped and stared at an area and barked. She didn't think to much about it but as she was going back into the house she heard a noise.
This was about 10 pm.
She feels that they are the ones that have been riding there motorcycles down by the tracks.
Their property is completely fenced. The motor home was in a covered area attached to their detached building.
There has been an increasing amount of traffic on the railroad tracks, and thieves came in through the back walking gate on the Doe's property. Most likely Kathy deterred the thieves from taking anything more since they probably knew she was out there with the dog, and not knowing whether or not she saw them, there was a chance that she went in to call the police.
Kathy said they rifled through papers and such also - probably looking for credit cards, etc. WE URGE YOU TO remove all items of importance from your vehicles like credit cards, cash, cameras, removable GPS systems, etc.
If you have walking entrance gates that are not secured, you might want to invest in a lock. If there is an opportunity for gain, these guys will check out gates for openings, climb over fences, or whatever."
