PAWTUCKET-A 30-year-old Providence man was arrested on numerous charges Sunday night after breaking into a house where his ex-girlfriend was staying and attacking her in the midst of a party.

The suspect, Luis Rivera of 1051 Broad St., 2nd, was taken into custody near the intersection of Cedar Street and Main Street after fleeing the scene.
The victim told police that she had broken up with Rivera eight months ago and had been staying with a friend at 55 West Ave. for the past two months. She also said that she and Rivera have two children together.
The victim said that she and her friend were hosting a party when Rivera came into the house. She said he began yelling and swearing at everyone and was told to leave but refused. She said he was finally pushed out the door by a couple of the male guests.
A few minutes later, she said she noticed that Rivera had broken into the house by climbing through a kitchen window which had been closed, but not locked.
She said he allegedly took a steak knife out of the dishwasher, and then walked outside to her vehicle and cut all of the tires.
The victim said that she ran outside, yelling for Rivera to stop, at which point he charged at her, grabbed her hair and slammed her on the ground. She said he also began throwing beer bottles at people who were outside on the porch.
Rivera then fled the area on foot, heading west on Cedar Street.
When police officers spied Rivera, he initially refused their orders to stop. He was tackled to the ground by Patrol Officers Ryan Heise and John Donley and was taken into custody.  He reportedly had two broken beer bottled in each coat pocket, and police later recovered the steak knife next to the victim's vehicle.
Rivera was charged with breaking and entering a dwelling without consent, domestic-simple assault, domestic-vandalism, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and failure to appear/answer a summons.

This is really getting crazy...but probably most of this goes unreported- The solution is early on models of positives

Very cool website that should appeal to kids and get the word across...and also for big kids like the 30 plus guys and gals...

I like that's not cool.  I would like to link it to www.nowthatiknowit.com  What kind of feed back are you getting from the teens.  And I do know that these matters are relationship matters, not teen matters.  Beatrice
