  • Respect-O-Meter: Valued Neighbor
There are many properties owners who decide to rent their homes and don't bother to provide the renters with copies of the covenants. In the meantime, the rest of us have to comply with them or be penalized. The association recently purchased the unkept property to the left as you enter the subdivision because there was an interested party that wanted to build a convenient store in that spot. If the association didn't want a convenient store there, then they should contract the same people that maintain the entrance to cut down the broken braches and clean up that EYESORE! I wonder what excuse we will get because when we complain about the neighbors who don't maintain their yards, the association's response is they can't do anything about it. Our fees are increased and the properties are looking worse. It is very frustrating that the the only way they attempt to enforce these convenants is by an endless trail of letters. I hope other hardworking residents agree with me.
We need to get it right!

Martha, you may have hit on one very key weakspot - landlords are not putting renters into our home properties who either know our covenant rules or do not understand that they are rules they need to abide by, just as would the landlord/owner.

The annual meeting is coming up soon and it seems every one of us who wonder why rules are not being followed or problems you describe are not being dealt with effectively.

We need to make our lists of ''eyesores'' and have the HOA explain each and every one to us at the annual meeting!

We need an across the board clean up!
