REFERENDUM ORDINANCE ON ZONING REPEALED BY EMERGENCY LEGISLATION

Ordinance 2000-137 called for annexed land at R4 zoning

Note: This Ordinance was originally not on the 3/06/01 agenda for City Council and was added, without information, following the “public comments” section of the meeting. A copy of this Ordinance was only available after the conclusion of the meeting.

The Ordinance was given (3) readings in one night and passed as an “Emergency”.

AN ORDINANCE TO REPEAL ORDINANCE 2000-137 AND THE DECLARATION OF AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, Ordinance 2000-137 was passed by Council on December 5, 2000; and,

WHEREAS, Council now wishes to repeal such ordinance in its entirety;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PICKERINGTON, FAIRFIELD-FRANKLIN COUNTIES, OHIO, THREE-FOURTH’S (3/4’S) OF ITS MEMBERS CONCURRING:

SECTION 1. That Ordinance 2000-137 is hereby repealed in its entirety.

SECTION 2. For the reasons noted in the preamble, this ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, or welfare of the citizens of Pickerington, Ohio. This ordinance shall become effective upon its passage by Council and approval by the Mayor.
