Homeowners bear more burden than a decade ago
Ohio homeowners are bearing a larger brunt of the property tax burden than they were a decade ago, in a trend that some say could continue. ....
That means, in general, when a new property tax levy is approved, residents today pay for more it than in the past, when business picked up a higher percentage of the tab.
The study shows it's only going to get tougher for school districts to pass property tax levies, said Warren Russell, deputy director of the Ohio School Boards Association.
