Another 4th comes and goes and I have to say to the Shaver administration - great job at rescheduling the 4th festivities to the 4th. The parade was pretty good and the fact that it was held at 6 rather then the morning had a definite impact on the number of people that stayed for the fireworks. Now if you just has some better concessionaires to keep the people engaged.
Can I make one suggestion though? Please anticipate the traffic patterns and timing after the events and have the police respond accordingly. They did better than they did in the past last night, but with better planning and anticipation, it could be better. How about planning exit strategies that force traffic where you want it to go for the best results? Also, there should be some streets and alleys that are closed to traffic completely during the event. OK, enough of that.
It seems that we had two candidates showing their stuff in the parade. Jeffrey Fix and Michael Sabatino. Fix walked and Sabatino rode. I?’ll give Fix a 6 out of 10 for effort and Sabatino a whopping ZERO. What were you thinking you lazy boob? Two vehicles probably worth $70,000 together and the gas at $2.20 a gallon? What exactly are you trying to show the voters? You?’re rich, so what? Did you get rich from your builder buddies during your time on council or is coffee sales just that good? Or wait, is this how you?’re spending your $13,000 settlement from the city?
Give me a brake buddy. Get off your can and do something. Oh wait, I know what the deal was. This is Sabatino?’s way of abstaining from the parade. Like on council. He show up and doesn?’t participate. So he comes to the parade and abstains from walking.
Lastly I saw O?’Brien walking with the mayor and other councilmen. I think the message I got in all this is the two people above saying I want to be on council and the latter saying ?“I AM on council.?”
Mixed messages from a mixed bag of candidates. It should be an interesting campaign season. Stay tuned for what may prove to be an even more critical election than when the infamous ?“Gang of 4?” were elected.
