Hackworth could run for trustee. However if he won he would have to resign either council or not accept the trustee's office. I believe there is something in the city charter that prohibits him from holding two elective offices at the same time.
At the same time if there are enough candidates to run for the four open seats this fall and they all win then Hackworth would have the option of choosing where he would best serve. I don't think he wants to let the builders back in the door. So once the City Council is sercure he might be able to accept a township trustee position (if he could win the election) and actually impose impact fees.
