Obstructionist
I think if you get down to the brass tacks here with Michael Sabatino he is more of an obstructionist than a council representative for the Citizens of Pickerington and this community.
No matter what is proposed by the majority of council Mr. Sabatino seems to find something wrong with the ordinance or resolution even if he must make something up. His entire mission now is to confront the Mayor and embarrass the city as a whole. He is abstaining because he is ''so concerned about the taxpayers money.'' That is a quote directly from Mikey.
Last year Mike voted against the PIO because he wanted to give the New Manager a chance to select her own PIO. This year it is somehow unethically for a city to inform its citizens of projects and programs going on within the City.
In 2003 Mike voted for not only a $1.5 Million contract to widen Diley Road but he also voted for the alignment of Diley Road and six months later conducted a referendum on the very same vote he was in favor of in the previously six months. Clearly this had nothing to with protecting the taxpayers money and more about exploiting a political issue when there was resistance from the Diley Road residents. To make his point he engaged in a number of lies that he and Bill Wright promoted on their web site. Some of those lies have been posted on that web site.
Despite the fact, that Bill Wright accepted huge campaign donations from R. D Zande and Stillson and associates in 2001, Bill voted to award nearly $2 Million in contracts to these two companies and his campaign benefactors in 2003. Both of these contracts were clearly spelled out as widening Diley Road to FIVE lanes. Yet once the Diley Road residents came forward to protest Bill lied and said he didn't know anything about Diley being widened to five lanes, he thought it was only going to be widened to 3 lanes. Either he lied through his teeth or he didn't read the contract in January of 2003 that he sponsored out of the Finance of which he was Chairman. I will report the public record and you can decide if he lied.
Bill Wright continues to try to re-write his past role in the lack of cooperation with the City of Pickerington and Violet Township. He even mentioned that he and Randy Hughes tried to get some agreements with the Township. That is a flat ass lie on Bill Wright's part. Those that doubt my charge see Gary Weltlich for his version. Then look at the results over the years from 2000 thru 2003 and then what has happened since the January 2004 with the take over of the new Mayor and council. New council same township.
Now back to Sabatino. Bill Wright and Mike Sabatino have teamed up and as I understand it they have been turning to extortion as a legislative tool. I understand the majority council members were threatened if they voted for the Barb Slaven contract (which by the way it is the same contract for the last four years with the city) Mike would ask for endless numbers of public information requests to paralyze the city and its operations. I understand he is following through with his threat. He has also with total disregard for any kind of decency filed a Ethic Charge against Barb Slaven with the Ohio Ethic Commission. Barb Slaven is a Police Officer's widow trying to make a living and as far as I can see very ethical. Her articles in the local papers have been excellent.
