$5 per day childcare?

unless things have changed...

It was predicted when the calculations were done during the fabled boudary committee meetings that the school at Sycamore Creek would be almost entirely filled by kids from Sycamore Creek given the density and plats of that subdivision. That may aid some of the other elementaries, but given the ''starter home'' quality and ''buy here-pay here'' financing they are doing to dump those houses, we can rest assured that Sycamore Elementary will be for Sycamore only for years to come.

The PLSD is less than 40% built out - that means that there is over 60% of land available to add homes. Unfortunately we are no where near being landlocked like Bexley or Worthington, so the belief that the proposed schools will be too much is very premature.

In addition there are 687 children that go to school in portable classrooms this year in grades K-4. Enough to almost fill one of the new proposed schools.

While the City & Township may be well on their way to controlling growth (I hope but we'll see) - the seating for the elementary kids they have brought in the last 5 years (about 1100 in grades K-4) hasn't changed since Tussing was built & Heritage renovated.

At some point people have to recognize we can't add all these students and not provide seats - at least & not maintain the type of school system we all moved here for. I also think the argument that we've had split sessions & they were fine is not a great one. This district has never put elementary kids on split sessions - this will have a much bigger impact than subjecting an older group of kids to that philosophy.
