I saw this too. I just emailed some BOE members to find out if this is true and, if so, why it is being added. I encourage everyone else to do the same!

Don't get your knickers in a bun
The PLSD is NOT jumping into a ''let's do a pre-scholl'' mode. This is for SPECIAL NEEDS pre-K, which is a state requirement.
There is currently a program in place that has shifted sites several times, being put where space allows. This program takes up more space because of the nature of the needs of the children, as dictated by the state. As district enrollment grows, so does the enrollment in this program. This year they are housed in 4 classrooms, I believe, and are projected to need 6 classrooms in the next few years. One aspect of the school facilities recommendation was to ask the board to seek a permanent home for the program, if possible.
