Not what I said
You ''quote'' me as saying, ''We live in bigger homes and we pay more real estate taxes so we deserve to have better school facilities for our children.''
That is NOT what I said. I stated there are more homes in the Township, and they are proportionally paying more in taxes because of their numbers. Granted, many of the homes in the Township are more expensive than the homes in the City, but nowhere does that mean the Township residents ''deserve to have better school facilities for our children'' (your words). I don't have an ''elitist'' attitude, but some city residents seem to have a ''pity me'' attitude because they live in Pickerington City.
The taxes I pay for the sheriff's office to patrol the Township are the same as the rest of the residents of the county. Money goes into the general fund and is put into his budget for him to spend as he desires. Yes, the Township contracts with the sheriff to patrol the area, but it is not strictly speaking ''just'' Violet Twp's taxes funding his office.
If I have an accident within the City of Pickerington, are you going to demand I repay the City the costs of responding to that accident? I don't pay City income taxes, so does that make me any less able to have them respond to my needs? I use the City parks occasionally, but if they were closed off to all non-Pickerington residents, then I would go elsewhere. It's not a big deal to me.
If you have children who are not currently playing rec sports at the PYAA/PASA complex on 256, you are free to go there to watch if you so desire. Do you offer to pay a ''cost deferral fee'' to help them offset the costs of the upkeep, since you would not be a ''paying member'' of their association? Of course you don't. The ''elitist'' attitude seems to be coming through on your end when you seem to imply that I should not use Pickerington City parks since I do not pay the City income tax. Am I still allowed to drive on ''your'' roads?
