It took me all day reading your newest posts then looking back a ways at your old posts (under your real name) as to who you were.
Welcome back.
Some thoughts for you and your associates:
Here's something outside the box. Instead of Pickerington Local School District, we instead go to Pickerington City Schools? Then Mayor Shaver who is really touting his impact fees will actually then be able to get the builders to contribute to the school. City schools are one of the things you can slap an impact fee on for. And given the finances of the district and the number of platted houses, it could be a significant amount.
Farther outside the box - how about a Pickerington Fire Department? Same theory applies. Impact fees instead of tax increases.
Way way outside the box. How about a merger between the city and township? If they are at risk of losing their police protection in the township if the levy fails and they are legally bound to provide this service, why not merge? Your paltry .5% income tax is far less that 3 or 4 mils that Dunlap is threatening you with.
If the township and city merge, you can really redraw the boundaries and send the Columbus kids to Columbus schools, CW to CW and so on. Then the 8 units per acre/section 8 crap that Columbus keeps building can go to Columbus schools.
Come on tigerpanther, before this nom de plume you had some pretty radical ideas yourself. I know it's tough to post now, but sometimes you just can't help it. This website got us far and will keep us going.
