Whew!!!!!!!! I thought we had lost our village idiot. I just found out where he is. Our resident village idiot, Randall Hughes, or should I say the former Mayor is now a teacher. I read in the South East Messenger that he doesn't want his grandchildren attending an elementary school that houses 1000 students. Randy basic math, Pickerington Elementary holds about 600 students then add the portables that have been there as long as you were mayor and councilman the total goes to 800. They aren't wanting to put a 1000 students in the school they only want to put 800 in the school. Even as a teacher you continue to get it wrong.
First Mr. Hughes how does it feel, AS A TEACHER, to get a raise more in line with the rest of the school district TAXPAYERS? How does it feel to be in a protected job and no matter how stupid you are or how incompetent you have no fear of losing that job? Along with the protected job you get yearly raises nearly twice the average of the CPI?
How does it feel now to worry about how you pay your bills with a 1.5% pay raise and our real estate taxes are increasing at a 3% rate per year along with everything else?
Now you want us and the school district taxpayers to worry about where we are going to put these kids to educate them? Some of us have been worrying for a long time while you were on council. When will it ever dawn on you about all those builders that donated to your Mayoral campaign and what they wanted? What did you think all of those housing projects along Diley would do to our schools? You are in the same boat now as the folks along Diley road that woke up last spring and realized allowing these new homes has a cost to not only from our tax bills but the effects it has on our children and your grandchildren. It have affects on the likes of those that live along Diley.
Why didn't you tell the school board how proud you were to have brought all of those houses into Pickerington during your abbreviated term as Mayor. That you were the darling of the BIA.
I guess as a grandfather myself my question is why do we pay idiots $65,000 per year to teach our children and wonder why these kids struggle with life?
