I see that Judge McAuliffe got 17 years for burning his house down and making a false claim to his insurance agent Lou Postage. He also must pay back nearly $400,000. The judge will be very close to 80 by the time he gets out of federal prison.
Yet he willing to spend the rest of his life in prison and not give up the others involved in his capers over the years. They must be a real tough crowd the Judge ran with. I guess as mitigating circumstances he claims to have been high of pot since 1999. What does this admission do the more serious cases the Judge heard over that four period? Who was selling Municipal Judge pot? Clearly the criminal that was dealing the dope felt safe in approaching the Judge. Just as clear the Judge ran with a number of current and former members of the Pickerington City Government. How did they not know of the Judges activities? It is rumored that one former councilman has the Judge's power of attorney. Will this former councilman be writing the $400,000 restitution check to pay back the government? What is his involvement? Why did these politicos promote the Judge's re-election?
How long will it take for the Judge to cut a deal? Clearly he knows a lot more than he is letting on. When will he give up the rest of the gang? Maybe he already has given them up and the authorities are building their cases as we worry about these criminals still on the lose.
