Why you should support Issue 28

Are they errors?

That solution does not address middle school enrollment.

When asked, it appears that Dr. Brink wants Heritage totally converted to a middle school. If that is the case you have 30 elementary classrooms in portables and all of Heritage elementary school displaced as well as the special needs preschool. Elementary schools will still need portables to contain growth.

What's smart about that? We build two schools and still use portables. Sounds like business as usual in the PLSD to me. But that's what the PEA wants business as usual and more control than they should have, oh and middle schools that don't hold more than 700 kids.

Divide and conquer

Divide and conquer, that is the answer we see here. If we think we can't get everyone on board, then we will just push it through and then call names and acuse everyone of stone throwing when legitimate concerns are raised. This levy request is not well thought out and contingencies and alternatives were not thoroughly investigated it was rushed. I am disappointed in this board, I expected better, I certainly expected open communication and consideration of all ideas.

If it smells like dead fish, it usually is dead fish. This levy is dead fish.

What are the plans for Heritage

What are you going to do with Heritage, put 1000 elementary students there? Why can't it be a middle school, that seems to be where the immediate crunch is anyhow.

I think the neighbors and taxpayers near these schools are sick and tired of being in parking lots several times a day because of all the traffic they generate. At Harmon, if there is an event for parents to attend that involves more that TWO classrooms, we need to park on the streets all over SEVERAL neighborhoods because there is only barely enough parking for the staff.

When schools are built, no infrastructure to maintain traffic is included, the schools go begging to the County, the Township or the city to pay for more roads. When developers come here, at least in Violet Township, they are required to put in turn lanes and traffic devices if needed, why isn't the cost of this in the bond for the construction of the schools?

You can imagine this and I believe it is true...Mark Uher pressuring the Fairfield County Engineer for road improvements at the North Complex, threatening him with opposing his re-election if they do not build roads around North. This is the same engineer who deals with Lancaster Schools, with dilapidated buildings and needs not met. Here we are in Pickerington building a palace on Refugee begging the county engineer to pay for roads because we cannot afford them.....We need to look in the mirror and come back to reality. Build these monsters and you will hate it, neighbors will hate it, kids will hate it.
