Growth plan

Posted in: PATA
Taken off of the city's website.

Looks like another growth management plan is on tonight's agenda. You going to come out and support city council in this?

G. RESOLUTION 2004-19R, ?“A RESOLUTION TO ENACT A REVISED GROWTH MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR THE ISSUING OF HOUSING PERMITS,?” First Reading, Hackworth.
Limiting building permits

Even though the resolution says a growth managment ordinance it only limits the number of building permits(to 100 units)until the city has in place an actual growth management plan.

Those council members that have been on council for a long time justified their outragious growth by saying only the township or people that live ouside the city were the only ones complaining about growth and the sewer expansion.

I think the citizens that live in the city need to give the slow growth council members support. That means if you live in the city be there tonight. I understand Parker has already blew up at the Service Committee when it was proposed. I am sure he will play to the press this evening. Don't let the press filter your information.
Courage Fading

I understand that the City Council came out of executive session last night and tabled this moratorium extension. Apparently there are members of this city council that can't stand the heat of the kitchen. The city is only 75% of the township's population and the city has already issued well over 300 building permits this year. I understand that there are over 100 applications waiting to get building permits. Last year's building moratorium didn't include condos. The growth rates will be astronomical if the city doesn't address this growth issue before the end of June.

If you folks that helped get these slow growth people elected think your work is done you are mistaken. It appears there are some on this council that can't address the citizens concerns and fall into the manipulation of past councils. I think we need to fill the council chambers again and let OUR representatives know why they were elected.
