More houses coming

Posted in: PATA

I raised the alarm a few weeks ago and no one seemed to believe me. Yet time is marching on and this school district continues to get more applications to build even more damn houses. The city stopped most of theirs last year and now they have moved to the township. The township residents beat on the city residents for years now on this site but now I don't hear a word coming from these same township residents that are about to get buried in applications and there is no one to stop them. In fact to hear Terry Dunlap talk housing projects are good for the Township. I would except every citizen that has been attending the city council meetings that last few years and show up at the township and let them know how you feel about 214 more homes coming to farm near you. It is time the township residents either put up or shut up.

I think it is time to set Terry Dunlap straight about growth and his policy. He likes it. He also was endorsed by the Pickerington Area Republican Club in 2001. Maybe they have influenced his thoughts.

Come on Joe

Didn't you know that 300 homes a year at 2 homes per acre is better than in the city because of... well there's also... and don't forget about ummm, uhhh, ...

Well I'm sure there's some good reason why our fine township trustees think we need all these new homes out in the township. Let's go and find out at the next township mtg.

You all have lost count

Oz,

I think you have lost track of the total number of new homes coming to Violet Township. Let me remind you:

Meadowmoore: 150 plus

Haaf Farms: over 50 more

Spring Creek: 300 plus

Spring Creek Condos: 125 plus

Wellington Place: over 400

Violet Meadows: 125 plus

Woodstream: 140

That totals out to over 1280 lots available in the township that none of you can stop. You folks have hung you collective hats on the fact that you promote low density and that slows rate of growth in our schools. Do any of us need another 214 approved building lots in this school district?

The numbers are bad enough for the city but there is a possibility that, with the new city government, it will be slowed to a trickle. The township can not by law do anything but to protest. The City is going to have a growth management plan in place within the next two years. Where is the Township's growth plan? Oh I forgot they legally can't have one. They are beholding to the county who doesn't give a rats butt. Oh what about a moratorium? Oh I forgot your Trustees didn't want to cover that ground because they may incur some legal debt like Pickerington did by being sued by the BIA. How about Home Rule, Oh I forgot Terry and Harry own farms and they want to cash out before the housing boom crashes.

Are all of you in the township going prove Parker right about the uncontrolled growth heading to the township?

He will look like a genius in a year or so.

More sewer taps coming

The Pickerington City Council will be looking at an ordinance to accept the bid for the new sewer plant expansion on Tuesday April 6th. I understand that this expansion will increase current capacity from 1.2 MGD up to 3.5 MGD. Simple math tells you that will provide enough sewer taps for another 7000 new homes. If they are going to control growth then why are they expanding the plant that much? How are they going pay for it? I think the citizens of Pickerington have been given a line of crap from the new government.
