DUNLAP Carolyn A. Dunlap, age 61, of Canal Winchester, died unexpectedly on Monday, June 14, 2004 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. Born August 19, 1942 in Baltimore, she attended Liberty Union High School. Her devotion to public service began in the early 1970's, when she and her husband Terry took emergency phone calls in their home for the Pickerington Police Dept. as volunteers, seven days a week. She went on to become Police Dispatcher for the village of Pickerington, and spent the rest of her career with the City of Columbus Emergency Dispatch Center. She enjoyed working in her garden, reading, genealogical research and the American Civil War. Carolyn was everyone's ''Go-To'' Girl, the person they could count on for help solving any day-to-day problems. She will be sadly missed by her Columbus Police family. Carolyn is survived by her husband and soul mate of nearly 45 years, Terry, who was with her through all of life's trials and tribulations, and was at her side always, even at the very unexpected end. Their 44 years of devotion to each other was an example and inspiration of what true love and marriage stand for. Also survived by children, Kristi (David) Huskey, Baltimore, Terry J. Dunlap, Jr., Canal Winchester, Debra Lee Poston, Lancaster; grandsons, Matthew Day Sermon, Joshua Lewis Dunlap, Jacob Alexander Dunlap, David Lee Poston; parents Cecil ''Pud'' and Maxine ''Peg'' Fisher, Baltimore; sister, Lynn (Steve) Campbell, Lancaster; brother, Craig Fisher, Charlotte, NC; daughter-in-law, Kelly Dunlap, Pataskala; mother-in-law, Carole Dunlap, Canal Winchester; sister-in-law, Linda Broeske, Seminole, FL; nieces, Chelly Campbell, New York, NY, Jeannette (Greg) Elliot, Champaign, IL, Janelle Musgrave, Seminole, FL; and many friends. Friends may visit 1-3 and 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 550 Hill Road N. (St. Rt. 256), Pickerington, where funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. Jill E. Dunlap officiating. Interment Violet Cemetery. Friends who wish may contribute to the National Kidney Foundation, 1373 Grandview Ave., Suite 200, Columbus 43212-2804 in Carolyn's memory. The world has lost one of the most kind, gentle and caring of souls; we will all miss her deeply. Online condolences at www.spencefuneralhome.com.
