Public money on Private lands
It seems those crooks currently holding the Majority have not gotten the message even now. In 1998 this bypass was reticulated by the resident and they didn't know half of what they know today. This project is so full of C--P that is smells even in the township.
First in 1997 the land where the Townsquare apartments (condos) are built was zoned as commercial. That strip of land along the rail line was residential. In that year they switched the zoning around so BD could build his condos. At the same time they proposed a TIF for the area to build a downtown bypass. So the taxpayers spend $750,000 to build this road over PRIVATE property and that money was suppose to be repaid by future taxes from property improvements which never seemed to come. The city has no leverage over DB to make him complete the commercial in this development. In exchange for DB building a couple of ''FLEX WAREHOUSES'' that the taxes are tifed the city must buy at least TWO businesses. One being the Bus Repair barn and the other being the Sterling Coach building. The first question is either of these established businesses bringing in more taxes than this proposed businesses. Has Lou and his boys made a very wise decision for this city?
Will this by pass actually fix or even help the downtown traffic. If it helps the downtown traffic and bypass potential customers then won't that hurt the existing downtown business district that Joyce so proudly invested $5 million dollars into over the last 5 years?
It seems there is a group within our Pickerington City government that needs to be removed from office. This last minute political PAY OFF to the builders and developers is your money Pickerington. If those of you that live in the township ship think this is only City money think again. They are diverting tax dollars that the residents of the school district must replace. We all in this mess together. We finally now have majorities of honest people in the school board and City Hall. Many of you witnesses their swan song on December 16th at their last council meeting. There sat Debbie Carlier, Larry Sigman, Wes Monhollen, Lou Postage, Randy Hughes, and the other likely suspects.
This struggle is no over folks. I hope you all will remember their last minute antics for future elections.
