President Gail Oakes

Posted in: PATA
Based on the discussion below, I think many people will be interested to know that Gail Oakes was elected president of the school board, and Jim Brinks was elected vice-president. Also interesting is that all were in favor except Wes Monhollen, who abstained.

For all who doubted, Lisa Reade did, and was always going to do, the right thing.
Interesting.

Hmmm. Seems like I said something about giving Jim a chance didn't I?

Glad to see everything worked out.

Judge their actions

I hope this is looked upon as an example to judge someone's actions and not second hand words on what ''supposed'' actions might be.

It seems a lot of energy was expended on second guessing. It might have been a lot of concerns could have been set aside with a phone call.

Things working out

I am glad things found a way to be worked out. I was very afraid of the wheels falling off the cart before it even got to the starting line. I hope that this 4 to 1 (abstention) vote shows some kind of unity for our future. The budgetary problems facing the board over the next few years will be monumental and we will need at least four votes to do business.

To the 2004 Pickerington School Board; good luck! and hopefully the emotions shown just here on this web site will show you the need for communications between at least the four members that agreed to move forward after last night.
