I saw in the paper over the weekend that Pickerington schools will be getting $3 million more in funding for the 03-04 year than they did in 02-03.

Does this lessen the amount that is needed from the voters in August?

442 more kids

I don't have the figures but doesn't it seem reasonble that $3 million will not even cover the new kids attending our school system (442 in the fall of 2002). Even the $6 million that the PLSD is asking for with the levy will only provide funding for one year. The city alone has 592 building permits in the builders pockets that is 900 more kids. We will probably see a couple hundred more from the township.

Down below some person was talking about the builders protecting their investments with pre-permits. I am sure the city collected the money so these are pre-permits they will be built on and they will over load the schools. If the levy fails they may do something. The something they do will only last until the have proctected their investment and their last house in their development is sold..

The fact is the BIA doesn't give a rats petuttee about Pickerington and it's tax payers. They only care about their share holders. Never mind we are the highest taxed school district in the county yet deliver much less to educate our kids. When do we elect leaders that understand this?

We do that in November or they get recalled. Shaver and now it seems Riggs are the only ones worth putting in office. The others are useless. They worry about replanting trees (Sabotino) or accusing the only one with integrity (Shaver) of being in with the Developers. Shaver for MAYOR and Riggs for President of the Council. Get rid of every other useless individual on the concil. VOTE for the schools's sake, our Kid's future and the Taxpayer's pocket.

November vote will not get it

Unfortunately the election of Shaver and Riggs will not get it done. We need to elect at least two more in November. I am suggesting Hackworth and Shankland(yes Diane has her petition). Also, that will only give three councilpersons. We need to recall Wright and Parker. Getting rid of Postage now would help Shaver in November.
