HUGHES HURTS

I FEEL I MUST RESPOND TO MR NUGENTS LETTER. DUE TO MR HUGHES INCOMPETENCY AS A TEACHER MY DAUGHTER HAD TO SET OUT THE LAST FRESHMAN BASKETBALL GAME AS A CHEERLEADER. ON JAN. 23 WE WERE NOTIFIED THAT MR HUGHES HAD LEFT HER GRADE FROM HIS CLASS BLANK ON HER REPORT CARD. WE NOTIFIED HER COUNSELOR AND WERE TOLD IT WAS A ''C'' AND THAT IT WOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF AS IT WAS THE TEACHERS RESPONSIBILITY TO ENTER THE GRADES. SHE CONTINUED TO CHEER. ON 2/5/02 I SPOKE AT THE COUNCIL MEETING AGAINST APPT. MR MAXEY AGAINST THE VOTERS WISHES. ON 2/16/02 MY DAUGHTER WAS NOTIFIED 15 MINS. BEFORE THE PLAYOFF GAME AGAINST REYNOLDSBURG THAT SHE COULD NOT CHEER BECAUSE HER GRADE FROM MR. HUGHES WAS STILL BLANK. MY WIFE AND I WERE VERY UPSET NOT TO MENTION MY DAUGHTER WHO CALLED US IN TEARS, AS WE KNEW SHE SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO CHEER. WE MADE A COMPLAINT TO MS. MILLER THE ASST. PRINCIPAL AND I ASKED HER TO HAVE MR HUGHES CALL ME AS I WANTED TO TALK TO HIM, NEEDLESS TO SAY MR HUGHES HAS NOT CALLED AND WE WERE RIGHT MY DAUGHTER SHOULD HAVE BEEN ALLOWED TO CHEER INSTEAD SHE HAD TO SIT OUT IN HUMILIATION, THE REALLY SAD PART IS MY DAUGHTER REALLY LIKED RANDY---FORGET THAT. MS MILLER WAS GREAT THROUGHOUT THIS ORDEAL AND DID APOLOGIZE TO MY DAUGHTER AND EXPLAIN IT WAS RANDYS FAULT BUT HOW DO YOU BRING BACK THAT WHICH WAS LOST?

Well.......

Anonymous,

Criticism of leadership at City Hall is not my method of effecting change. The voting booth is my way of effecting change. I, like many others this past November actually did just that. We effected a change in City Council. The trouble is that the esteemed leadership at City Hall rejected that change, or rather they ?‘officially?’ will at tomorrow night?’s Council meeting. That, Mr. or Ms. Anonymous, shows me a whole lot about not just politics, but life.

The annexation policies are a large part of what is hurting the schools because the annexed areas are typically rezoned at a higher density that land that remains in the Township. I am at a loss as to this division between township and city residents that you and Mr. Nugent detail. I guess I can understand the animosity between their governing bodies, but the citizens? We had a Civil War once and that was only because the citizens joined in a dispute between governing bodies. We don?’t need that again.

Just to help me understand your stance, do you know what the approximate income tax revenue would be if the entire township population paid the 1% income tax? Or the approximate property tax revenue that would be generated? I mentioned before facetiously armed guards and security checkpoints for the Pickerington Resident-Only areas. I guess I underestimated the animosity between this Silent Majority and the people living in the unincorporated areas.

I choose to not attack the Township government leaders but would ask them the same of them that I have of City leaders; how about a moratorium on issuing building permits for a period of time to let the infrastructure improvements catch up to the development.

Thanks Gramma Hughes

Curious Gramma Hughes aka Tim Nugent, you are not kidding anyone. I realize you love your grandson. I am sure he has been real good to you, but really.... he is not good for us.
