This is nothing but a veiled attack at what the Central parents have seen as a inequity between the high schools. Have the courage to tell it like it is and then lets do something about it.

School should be about learning not sports. But why create more inequities by allowing the athletes to transfer back and forth in order to get on what is considered the good team at the time.

The facilites at North are better, anyone that debates that is a liar. But lets solve the real problem.

One School District

I do not pay school tax to Pickerington Central School District or to Pickerington North Local School District. I pay it to Pickerington Local School District. So that means I help pay for all the schools, just like every tax payer in the school district does. So that means the kids should be able to go to what every school the wish, if the school is not over capacity.

The OHSAA rules state that the student must choose before they enter their freshman year without penalty, why is the Pickerington Local School District different? they must choose by the middle of their 6th grade year. What 6th grader is mature enough to make that decision, none. The reason it is like this, Mr. Smith and Mr. Aprile went to the school board and cried. An the school board, with out public comment, passed it.

The Pickerington Local School District should follow the OHSAA rules, and not made up their own for the ones you complain the most and the loudest?…?…?…?…..

open enrollemnt ??

I am wondering if a student wants to transfer for a non athletic reason whether it be that the course work is being offered at one and not he other or they simply see an better opportunity at one school over the other, will this be a problem? I know we have accelerated classes at times if they are not being cut and maybe language classes. How about music classes? The point is the that district started with an open enrollment policy when they build the second high school and I am sure that open enrollment policy was for more than just the athletes.
