Any suggestions on how to maintain the three landscaped areas? There have been suggestions about pitching in some money to have it done. We will volunteer to maintain it if others want to help. The two on the PT and Turner Warnell side have become overgrown and now have weeds. I really don't see the entrance at LD and Matlock. I know Elizabeth and Jim cleaned it up last year. I'm not sure if we can get ALL neighbors to give money monthly. Even if we could collect from everyone then someone would have to collect and manage the money and then organize the service. My suggestion would be for a few families to volunteer to do the big cleanup- trimming bushes and pulling weeds. And maybe 1 person/family could volunteer monthly to maintain it.

thanks for your input!

Michelle;

I have asked my Landscaper to submit several bids on the cost to redesign the front entrance to Lonesome Dove trail and matlock. I will also ask them to do so for the other entrance.

What both myself and Elizabeth Wilson have discovered is only a few really care about upgrading and maintaining these entrances. Most don't seem to care about the appearances to this subdivision. Maybe it's like their front yards, unkept, not cut or trimmed on a week basis.

You make a good point here and it needs to be addressed. Also I find most people seemed to be more comfortable to just send emails to everyone, versus having to go through the process of signing on to a website, creating username, passwords, etc.

I agree about the e-mail but Elizabeth said some people complained about the number of e-mails going back and forth for one conversation. I thought I'd try and see if anyone jumps on this site.

I know it's only a few that will participate. That's why I was thinking we should do the work ourselves instead of expecting the few to pay money for everyone. But I'd like to hear the bid to maintain the entrances. We'd be willing to pay but very little. Really if we just got 12 families to maintain it 1 family a month it would be done. I know that's easier said than done.

Hi Michelle,

We'd love to contribute, coordinate or help in anyway to maintain the entrances. I believe that it's been said it remains the property owners responsibility.  I think we might want to see about approaching them first to see if there are any objections. I don't want to do anything to any ones  property that they don't want done.

I would be very interested in planting things in the entrance on Lonesome Dove, however I've spent a lot of money on it before only to watch it die because it didn't get any water. I would be willing to do it again with the homeowners approval and commitment to watering it.

Would anyone like to contribute to the cost? I can do the work with some help.

Elizabeth
