Adult Bars.

Can someone please tell me what is going to happen with the ''Back Swing'' building? I thought we might have gotten lucky when the place shut down. However, it looks like the place is about to reopen. As we all know, the history with the building is spotted at best. When I moved into the area 6 years ago, we had 7 places like this in our neighborhood. Currently we have 4. We really don't need another adult bar in the area. I feel it's lame that we have so many of these types of establishments in our neighborhood when the city has our neighborhood labeled as low income. How do we go about stopping more of them from comeing back?

Your concern regarding this type of business is shared by many in the neighborhood. The Cully neighborhood has the greatest number of businesses with liquor licenses in the NE area. Recently, the Top Hat and Tails has applied for a State and City dispensing liquor license. Neighbors have till Sept. 22, 2006 to respond by writing letters to the OLCC and the City. More information about the business will be on the web site home page soon. Letters of concern must be specific and related to crime, alcohol, alcohol related behavior or drugs. Traffic, Parking and Trash are not considered during the licensing process at OLCC. The OLCC is looking for documented fact or knowledge regarding problems on this site or with the owner. Letters to the City can be sent to Kinberly Mark-Villela, Liquor License Programs City of Portland - ONI, 1221 SW 4th Ave Room 110 or emailed to kmarkvillela@ci,portland,or.us The OLCC contact is Bill Hudson. His email is william.hudson@state.or.us

RE: Adult Bars &.....

We are new to Cully (3 months now) and thought when we bought our house that we were glad that place was closed, but to our suprise another one is coming. So, we agree with you Lee!!!

Is there an actual park to play at around the Cully Blvd area?? When my kids visit it would be nice to go to one near by.
Playground equipment at schools

The only places with playground equipment near Cully Blvd are at Rigler and Harvey Scott schools on Prescott. Harvey Scott has a small park behind it's school.
