That?’s right, Old Sawmill Civic Association has joined the Internet craze and established a web site through the assistance of Neighborhoodlink.com.
What is Neighborhood Link? Neighborhood Link is an innovative civic communication tool that provides every neighborhood and civic association their own free, interactive Web site. In addition to facilitating communication within each neighborhood, Neighborhood Link also creates a two-way civic communication channel between local government and neighborhoods. Neighborhood Link is currently being utilized by neighborhoods in our area and has been successfully deployed in 35 major metropolitan areas and hundreds of cities. The Far Northwest Coalition (www.neighborhoodlink.com/columbus/farnorthwest) is just one example of such a Web site.
Neighborhood Link is entirely underwritten by corporate sponsorships in each city. It is through these corporate sponsorships that Neighborhood Link is totally FREE to the neighborhoods and the city. Neighborhood Link is, and will always be a free service to the community.
Neighborhood Link has created a comprehensive Web site for you, members of OSCA, to view information that includes:

OSCA contact information
SCAN newsletter
Olde Sawmill history
Local school information
Community calendar
Discussion area
Customized pages containing information you choose
Email access to city council members, mayor's office and community police
Community PigeBank Program where you can earn commissions for your group
Much more to come, all free to you!

Community partnerships are also created in each city to enhance and more fully integrate Neighborhood Link into the fabric of the community. These partnerships include:
Mayor's Office and City Council
Public Libraries
Police Department

The "Talk About It" section is one of several two-way communication venues that make neighborhood Link a unique civic communication tool. Neighborhood Link has a profanity filter in this and all public areas of the Web site. Also, the neighborhood coordinator of the Web site has access to delete any and all messages in their "Talk About It" section.
Neighborhood Link will not delete messages unless they are libelous, scandalous, personally insulting, or contain profanity. Neighborhood Link will not delete discussion items because a person espoused a particular viewpoint, no matter how radical or different from those of the other members of the discussion.
Neighborhood Link cannot, and will not, provide any personal information about our users unless we receive a court-ordered subpoena.
At the bottom of every page within your neighborhood site is a hotlink entitled "Terms of Use." The above policies and guidelines are stated in greater detail within this section. However, if you have any other questions or comments, please feel free to contact Neighborhoodlink via email or by calling toll-free 888-241-0123.
