Unity of Purpose? Not even close.

So Obama is in power.  At last we can come together with HOPE and  "unity of purpose" right?  Those conservatives with all of their "conflict and discord" are out on the street.

So why did this inauguration crowd boo President Bush when he walked onto the stage?  Is that the unity Obama brings?  Is that the bipartisan emotion we can expect from his followers?  -- The supposed anit-unity Republicans have certainly never booed an outgoing Democratic president at the inauguration... not Carter, not Clinton, nobody.

Remember during the campaign when a woman called Obama an Arab... remember what a slur she meant for that to be and how McCain instantly rose to defend Obama as a patriotic American (which I believe that he is).... Did Obama rise to defend Bush in a similar fashion? NO!

So far, Obama brings no unity unless you count the unity of hating Bush.  He will need to live up to his own promises a bit more honestly in the future if he is going to be the Hope we need....Can he do it?

The "booing" that Bush  received at the inauguration was nothing like the sounds of the "angry mobs" at the McCain rallys. His rhetoric clearly fostered that atmosphere.

I don't condone the booing at the inauguration, but they were the results of 8 terrible years and the current hard times.

So, far from what I have seen, Obama has indeed try to foster unity-only time will tell.
