OAKFORGE COMMUNITIES-LAKES & WOODS

This evening a group of 4 kids (2 boys one on a bike and the other on a scooter) and 2 girls dressed in tank tops and short shorts were hanging out on the corner of oakforge dr and pine forge circle. They were using obscenities and acting as if they were fighting each other. One of the neighbors walked out to show his presence, but it made no difference. Eventually they headed back to wherever they came from. I HATE WALKING OUT OF MY HOUSE WITH MY CHILD AND HEARING OBSCENITIES COME FROM THE MOUTHS OF JUNIOR HIGH/ELEMENTARY SCHOOL KIDS! Were they doing anything awful not really, but go hang out in your own yard if you want to talk like that. I do hope that more neighbors make themselves visible so they stop hanging out over here. I am glad to see more people responding and witnessing these kids out and about.

As a teacher (I taught 6th grade for 5 yr.; now adults) I know that kids can be foul.  I have a lot of nerve when it comes to kids, but I think you would have gotten a positive response if you'd just gone out and said something like, "excuse me, I don't like language like that used in front of my house.  Could you please go elsewhere."  I have stopped fights at the bus stop, I have asked kids not to cut thru my yard, I have asked kids to help me pull weeds in the islands, etc.  Now what they do when you can't see them or hear them is another story.  Most kids know that their parents would not approve of the cussing, etc. and will avoid it around grownups that will speak up, but not disrespect them.  I know they are disrespecting you, but just try talking with them.  Believe me I feel your pain!!!
