How important are the next two to three years for the Oak Hill Neighborhood?
This summer the VISTA program is planning on hiring five to seven employees. For imformation about VISTA, number of hours and how much, contact Sandy Bell at 319-560-1580.
There will be a representative from Planning & Development at the March 12th meeting. They will discuss the progress with the H.A.N.D. project. The properties they have aquired and are planning to aquire, discuss the M.A.H.P. properties, and try to answer questions that you might have.
There will also be a representative from Irving Point Assisted Living Center to assess their progress.
On February 15th there was a meeting at the African American Museum. The City had a presentation on what the City sees for itself in development in the next few years.
On February 26th there was a meeting at the Traffic Engineering departmant to discuss what can be done at the corner of Mt. Vernon Road and 15th Street after that fatal accident.
St. Wenceslaus Annual Chili Supper will be March 10th from 4:30PM to 6:30PM at the Gym Building. $4.00 donation.
We have a nomination for Interim Neighborhood President. We need to vote as a Neighborhood to have an Interim President until our regular elections in October 2007.
The BRIGHTEN Project will be back this summer. We need names and addresses of those that need help in cleaning up their properties.
There is a VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program at the Oak Hill Jackson Neighborhood Resource Center. In our four offices within the 5 core Neighborhoods they have done over 215 tax returns.
