2016 ELECTIONS SLATED
Each year in November, the CFAAA elects officers for the upcoming year. It is now time to start the process.
Current 2015 officers: President James Augenstein, Vice President Lee Lehner, Secretary Carole Ann Koger, Treasurer Sandy Lookabaugh, and Member at Large David Dozier. We no longer have term limits, so the door is open.
During the September meeting, there is a nominating committee, which consists of three members, one of which can be an officer. Current officers are not eligible for the committee.
After the committee has been selected, a chairperson is selected and nominations are then open. A nominee must accept the nomination.
A member may nominate themselves. Nominations are sent to the emails of committee members.
At the November business meeting, a call for floor nominations will be made, at which any new member from the recent CFA class, with dues paid, can be nominated.
The time is now. Please give thought to being on the committee. I have been on it, but due to recent events in my life will be unable to participate.
2016 is counting on all of us.

OCFD FIREFIGHTER RESCUES PUPPY FROM PIPE
OCFD Major Steve Peters and Sadie (Picture Provided)
We all know firefighters have a very compassionate side. This was displayed recently by an Oklahoma City firefighter after being asked to aide a puppy lodged in a pipe.
On the evening of July 17, Eric Johnson and Linehn Kelley were walking their new puppy, Sadie, near NW 63 and Rockwell, when all of a sudden, they heard a “yelp.” The couple had lost sight of Sadie and was looking for her in various areas, when they noticed she had been trapped in a pipe.
Kelley, after trying to free the puppy then called her brother- in law, Oklahoma City Fire Department Major Steve Peters and asked if he could help. Peters then responded to the location and started the rescue.
Six men then dug for nearly a half hour, freeing Sadie from the pipe. After a few minutes, Sadie was back to her playful self.
CFAAA thanks these men for the rescue.
