Nominating Committee Responsibilities

By-laws, Section 6.5
Nominations:

No person may be a candidate for election to the Board who is not a member in good standing and has not been duly nominated.During the month of September the Board shall select a Nominating Committee consisting of three (3) members, no more than one of whom may be a current member of the Board.

The President shall be the ex-officio member of this Committee. The Secretary shall immediately notify committee members of their selection. The Nominating Committee shall choose its own chairman and it shall be that person’s duty to call a Committee meeting for the purpose of developing a slate of nominees for proposed election to each of the positions on the Board of Directors.

a)The Committee shall nominate one or more candidate(s) for each office and position on the Board, and after securing the consent of each person so nominated, shall immediately report their nominations to the Secretary in writing.

b)Additional nominations may be made during the November General meeting by any member in good standing in attendance provided that the person(s) so nominated does not decline when their name is proposed. No person may be a candidate for more than one position on the Board.

c)Nominations cannot be made in any other manner than is provided for in these Bylaws.

d)Elections shall be held during the Annual General Meeting. The Nominating Committee shall retire to a separate room and bring back to the assembly their final certified results of the elections. Election results shall be handed to the Secretary for announcement. Ballots shall be destroyed immediately after certification of the election by the Nominating Committee.
