Northside Neighborhoods for Organized Development

Hi, I am considering purchasing a home in Oakland Heights subdivision and I would like to connect with other parents who also have a child with high functioning autism.  I have heard that Locke Hill elementary is a good school for special education, but I would like to hear it first hand from parents who have a personal experience.  My child will be 5 and starting kindergarten this fall.  He is a very kind and docile child.  He is alsovery intelligent and social, but he has a hard time with verbal communication.  He needs teachers with compassion, patience and understanding.  Please let me know if you have any experience, good or bad, with special needs at Locke Hill ES.  And feel free to email me personally at kari.barnett@hotmail.com.   Thank you very much
