Ice Cream Truck Ordinance
There are (5) licensed ice cream trucks in the City as of June 11, 2008. The Clerk's office, handles the licensing (also taxi-cabs). Prior to receiving a license, the trucks must pass a health inspection from Oakland County, and the operators must go through a background check through the Southfield Police Department. The trucks are also prohibited from having loud music when within 100 yards of a church, school, or hospital. The City Code Sections 9.11 and Sections 7.407 through 7.409.
