Furnace Fund

Note the wonderful news about the Furnace Fund included in the President's message.

Christmas Fair
At this time of year, it seems like our Holiday Fair and Open House were a long time ago. So many holiday celebrations have taken place since that November Sunday, but this is the first opportunity to extend appreciation to all who contributed either goods, donations or efforts. As always, the day was a wonderful success and you are all thanked for your participation. Between the Christmas fair and the second chance fair, over $2,000 was realized for the Society.

President's Message

Happy New Year!

It was in our September Smoke Signals when a call was made to all of you to consider, if you would, a donation to help defray the expenses of replacing our two boilers. Within a few days, a member stepped forward with a check for $20.00 and suggested that an organized effort be made to solicit donations for this Furnace Fund. The account was established and the contributions continued to arrive. In October, the Society was half way towards covering its $3,500.00 expenditure. Then, just before Thanksgiving, donations arrived that completely erased any debt. This was an amazing effort by you, the membership. All donations, small, big, and larger still, combined to pay for our buildings being warm. You are all thanked for your efforts. Should you decide to claim these contributions on your upcoming tax return, please do so. Formal cards of receipt are being printed and will be forwarded to you ASAP.

Our fairs and building funds were successful because of your contributions. The Society is fortunate to have each of you on our membership roles. Jim
