Respect-O-Meter: Respected Neighbor
Day Tripper

With all due respect to Ned and his professed love of snow, the weather has been great lately and we've been looking for places to visit that are closer than a two hour drive.  We've been to Galena lately (barely within the two hour limit) and are wondering if anyone here in the 'Hood can suggest a good day-trip destination.

Also, does anybody know if Jeff's business is up and running at their new location?

Thanks.

  Here's a great suggestion.

GUN & KNIFE SHOW

Oct 24-26 Waterloo, Waterloo Cattle Congress, McElroy Auditorium On Target Promotions 660-341-1254

Who knows, Sarah Palin might be there. Guns, knives, ammo, outdoorsy wimmins, it don't get any better.

Maquoketa caves is a little more than an hour from here. Great place for a picnic, beautiful place to take walks, and check out the caves.

The amana colonies is a great place.

Colona is a great place too.

It has been many years (in fact many decades) since I visited the Maquoketa caves.  I'll put it back on the list.

The Amanas is a nice trip as well.  Their golf course is top rated....a gorgeous layout carved through the woods.

I'm not familiar with Colona.  What is the draw there?
