Congress Outlaws Caller ID Spoofing

According to an article dated April 14, 2010 by Nate Anderson, a writer for the website ars technica, A BILL To amend the Communications Act of 1934 to prohibit manipulation of caller identification information, and for other purposes has passed the House of Representatives.  The article can be read at:

Companies that sell services on websites to make your caller id say something that isn’t so are plentiful.  A search on Google for "spoof your caller id" yielded 54,000 results.

According to this article, the bill has already passed the Senate and should be signed into law soon.
