Dear Arthur and friends,

Can one safely eat any fish they catch in the Blackstone River right now?

Peace,

This FREE event is at Festival Pier, off School Street (Route 114 South). Gates will open at 9 am, with Dragon Boat races starting at 10 am. The event will run until 4 pm. Please note there is no parking at this site. Patrons can park at the RI Registry of Motor Vehicles parking lot at Apex Mall, 100 Main Street and at the Visitor Center Parking Lot, where shuttle busses will transport people to and from the festival site.

The festival presents colorful Taiwanese Dragon Boats with teams of 22 paddlers racing in a series of heats to the finish line, rowing to the rhythm of drumbeats along the Pawtucket River.

Right now there are 13 racing teams participating. BVTC notes that there is still room for more racing teams to become involved.
