Proposed Change to NEAC By-Laws

Proposed Changes to the Near East Area Commission By-Laws Submitted by Chair Bailey at the June 2010 monthly business meeting of the Near East Area Commission (NEAC). ARTICLE II. Members CURRENT: Section 1. There shall be twenty-one (21) official members of the Commission to be known as ??œCommissioners.??? PROPOSED CHANGE: Section 1. There shall be seventeen (17) official members of the Commission to be known as ??œCommissioners.??? CURRENT: Section 1. (a) Four members (to be known as ??œDistrict Commissioners???) shall be elected from each of the four (4) geographical districts within the Area. PROPOSED CHANGE: Section 1. (a) Three members (to be known as ??œDistrict Commissioners??? ) shall be elected from each of the four (4) geographical districts within the Area. ARTICLE IV. Meetings CURRENT Section 4. All four (4) NEAC Districts (i.e. Districts 1, 2, 3, and 4), comprised of four (4) elected Commissioners each, shall hold a minimum of two open public district meetings per year: PROPOSED CHANGE: All four (4) NEAC Districts (i.e. Districts 1, 2, 3, and 4), comprised of three (3) elected Commissioners each, shall hold a minimum of two open public district meetings per year:
