Northwest Crossing

dogs barking at all hours

Posted in: NW Crossing

With the garden homes in the area, I don't understand why some people are so inconsiderate toward others. The neighbor on one side has dogs that are constantly outside, but won't bring them in when they are barking especially late at night. These dogs are barking at all hours, most recently this morning starting at 2:00AM.

I have contacted the neighborhood association. Nothing. The police. Nothing. It is impossible for my family to get any kind of sleep at all at night.

Has any of you found something that helps?

Dog owners are almost always inconciderate people.

There are a few things you can try:

* Contact San Antonio Code Compliance.
* Send a nice letter to the resident.
* Try a Dog Silencer Pro.  Expensive but it worked for me.  Worth every penny.

If only people actually wanted their dogs.  They get them then ignore them out in the back yard.

I have the same problem with the dogs barking.  The only thing that has ever worked for me is to personally go to their door.  It's not exactly what I want to do at 2, 3, or 4 in the morning, but what the heck, I'm awake anyway.

I've heard about a number you can call (3-1-1) that is supposed to be able to help, but I think they're only open certain hours which doesn't do us any good in the middle of the night.

I'm ready to start a "Have some respect for your neighbors and shut your dogs up" committee... anyone else? There are city ordinance laws and it's probably a long arduous process, but I'm willing to get something started.  I'm actully looking for another home because of it.
