SPEEDERS IN OUR AREA,SPECIALY 22ND, AS THEY CAN'T GET THRU ON THE NORTH SIDE OF 23RD.HOW ABOUT PARKING OUR CARS IN THE STREET,IN SUCH A WAY AS TO CAUSE THEMTO SLOW DOWN TO GET BY?

Danger of Parking on 22nd Street

Usually for our own protection on our vehicles we park in our driveway. Several months ago we parked in the street and we in our garage when the sound of metal was heard. Our car had been hit and the driver was driving into the apartments located on 22nd and Quapah. The police were called the driver had no insurance and no drivers license. The car was towed away and the driver taken to jail. The next day the driver and car was again driving on 22nd into the apartment complex. What is the answer to this problem?

Parking in the Street

Not a bad idea, however, have you ever noticed that neighborhoods where all the cars are parked in the driveway look better? I know on the street I live on, from Meridian to Warren no one parks in the street and it looks so much nicer than the other end of our street from Warren down to Buchannon school where every one parks in the street. And, honestly, people speed down our street and keep speeding right on down where everyone does park in the street. So, I don't think it would cut down on the speeders that much. Also, not in this neighborhood but one close by, I had my car parked in the street overnight and it was burglarized.

I notice them EVERY morning down 20th. Any ideas on getting others to understand that children are walking to school at 8 in the morning!
