"We put Lofgren in a position, where he was able to say I'll make jobs, only to find our he was running under the radar, and had and did nothing.  Putting him in ony created disfunction of the entire process."

Really, republibub? Apparently you haven't kept up! Which committees does he serve on again?

Iowa Unemployment Rate Drops to 5.7 Percent

DES MOINES, IOWA – Iowa’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped to 5.7 percent in November, the first time the rate has been lower than 6.0 percent since September 2009. The state’s jobless rate was 6.0 percent in October, and 6.2 percent in November 2010.

“The Iowa economy appears to be on firmer ground than it was during third quarter,” said Teresa Wahlert, director of Iowa Workforce Development. “The large drop in the November unemployment rate, along with an increase in total employment and further expansion in manufacturing, seems to confirm that the recovery has stepped up a notch.”

"Perhaps there will be laws enacted to reduce the power of money in elections and make our votes count for what they were meant to count for again".

Laws can't overturn US Supreme Court decisions; and apparently you forgot how they ruled on Jan 21, 2010. The power of money in elections was set in stone by the court then.

Newt seems to think there's a way to do this.

I think there are a host of measures that can mitigate the problem.   One of which is make sure we can track the money.   Some people hesitate to do this kind of thing when they know the whole world will know it.

And when we know who has been bought by whom, and we dislike it, we can vote them out.

White  House defends Obama’s high dollar appointments

iWatch News reported Wednesday that roughly one-third  of appointments made by Obama were either bundlers who paid out at least $50,000  to the president’s 2008 campaign or spouses of these high rollers.

Nearly 80 percent of the bundlers who raised at least $500,000 ended up in  what the White House described as “key administration posts,” the report  found.

But, according to  the White House, Obama has been completely blind to  hiring candidates who donated money to his 2008 campaign.

“The president made clear that he would make political appointments, as every  president before him has, but we have enacted ethical standards and levels of  transparency that are unprecedented,”  Laughing  White House Press Secretary Jay Carney  said Wednesday upon the release of the report.

Carney said the White House stands by every appointment that’s been made.

The iWatch report, however, claims that Obama is not standing by the promises  he made during the campaign.

Visit the Iowa workforce devlpmnt website and do a search within 25 miles of Muscatine. Notice how many full time jobs HON has posted. Recent stories on HON also relate a huge surge in business. They also just aquired some kind of a company that makes institutional furniture, I think I read.

nobama shit-for-brains can't do anything, but local /regional businesses are trying their danmdest to make a go of it.

Even some posters here have been working overtime at HON. That's a good thing and the commie nobama had nothing to do with it, even though he remains davieboy's "false profit" that davie wants removed from office.
