Herman Cain is peerless among the long list of potential candidates -- and his impact on the field and the direction of the party will be in the direction of free enterprise, less government, and speaking with boldness -- you know, pretty much the opposite of what the GOP has done since Newt's Congress lost steam in the mid- to late '90s. 

 

 
 
 

Wow, nedl...I Googled part of your first sentence and came up with 10 pages of websites that have published this essay since first written & published last January. There are some very strong points here.

Speaking of political voices, I see where Muscatine has some positions up for election soon. The outspoken "republican" rants and raves about how poorly Muscatine is run, so I wonder if he plans to run for a local office. Will be interesting to see if he runs and if he paints himself  as a paragon when his posts on here are so hateful. If he runs, he certainly will not be a "fresh voice".
