During the final month of 2010, I decided to discern the makeup of our neighborhood. In order to accomplish this I checked the membership and how members posted. This included the number of individuals registered to post, the number of posts and how often posts were made. Here is what I found.
Members –377
Members who never posted once – 70
Members who posted only one time –79
Members posting 2 times –36
Members who posted 3 times – 25
Members posting 4 times – 15
Members posting 5 times – 15
Members posting 6 times – 9
Members posting 7 times –7
Members posting 8 times – 6
Members posting 9 times – 2
Members posting 10 times – 5
There were 269 members who never posted more than 10 times. I am not going to take the time to provide information on the rest of the neighborhood but posting continues upward from single digits to some posting in the hundreds with posters credited with posts in the thousands. Now the membership has changed slightly since December 2010 but that does not alter the above information very much.
AND
As for myself, I will not be posting here anymore and have asked my membership to be terminated by May 16th. I have not been a very good contributing member for some time now and I admit that. I can and have appreciated all the posts concerning politics and I thank all of you who have helped me to understand some of the issues involving our elected officials. But there must be more to life in any neighborhood than politics. Everyone is free to post what interests them and that can and should be done in a respectful way. I think some consideration needs to be given to this aspect of civility. I am hopeful the neighborhood will become more neighborly and welcoming to those who have something to post.
That’s All Folks
