Seniors in the crosshairs

Posted in: Muscatine

So what exactly is your question?

Lets try this in blue to see if that helps get the question across to you. The question will remain what it has been since post number one and will remain the same as what I've repeated several times.

What do "you" believe? Do "you" think ridding seniors (and future seniors) of their Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid is the right thing to do?

Please do not waste my time with stating what Republicans are trying to do. Or by telling us what Democrats have done. The question is about what "you" feel is right.

Hiroad had answered the question. Respect is given to him for doing so.

Let me be perfectly clear. You are the one stating what Republicans are trying to do - not I. My answer has been and shall always be that Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid are still in force for seniors - no one is trying to rid seniors of these entitlements. Any opinions about the future of these entitlements are conjecture. My crystal ball seems to be steamed up at present.

Hiroad has a right to state his opinion on any subject. I have stated my answer to your question.

Why do you think that not ONE democrat had the cajones to prepare a budget for 2011 when they had control of the House, the Senate, and the WH? The dems could not face the music if they touched the "entitlements" to make budget cuts as the taxpayers are demanding, so they kicked the can down the road to try to make the Republicans look like bad guys. We have all known for a long time that Social Security is in deep trouble as well as Medicare. So here we are at the eleventh hour of yet another extension  of the budget and the dems are still kicking and it is SIX months since they were supposed to submit a budget. The kicking should become kicking them right out of office for not doing THEIR job.

Maybe it's just me, but you seem to want to change the subject and ask your own questions, without addressing the subject at hand. Do you find Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid worthy for Government sponsor. Regardless to your position, Republicans want to rid seniors (and future seniors) of these current entitlements. Do you find that good?

In fact, this is the first post where you asked a question and you asked is I(we) find it good that Republicans want to rid seniors (and future seniors) of these current entitlements. My answer then and continues to be REPUBLICANS ARE NOT RIDDING SENIORS OF THESE CURRENT ENTITLEMENTS. period

Read the following article for the truth regarding the Republican budget proposal and how it relates to seniors.  The Democrats have no solution to the problem.  And no solution = eventual massive cuts for seniors.

"Ryan: Debt on Track to Hit 800 Percent of GDP; 'CBO Can't Conceive of Any Way' Economy Can Continue Past 2037

Wednesday, April 06, 2011
By Nicholas Ballasy

(CNSNews.com) House Budget Chairman Congressman Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) said President Barack Obama’s budget strategy is to “do nothing, punt, duck, kick the can down the road” while the debt remains on track to eventually hit 800 percent of GDP. Ryan added that the CBO is saying it "can't conceive of any way" that the economy can continue past 2037 given its current trajectory.

Ryan also said that the House Republicans’ FY2012 budget, which he unveiled yesterday, would save Medicare and help the United States avoid a debt crisis."

By the way, proposing a question that contains an erroneous premise is a dumb trick that is easily recognized by most eveyone.  Hey, TP, have you stopped beating your wife?  Just answer the question, OK?
