Branstad's Middle classTax Increase raises our residential property taxes, gives Wal Mart a big property tax decrease, and GPC a huge income tax decrease.
Now, Jim Hahn can live up to his campaign promise "I won't raise Taxes", but oh wait, who's taxes? Iowa's legislature is preparing to decide on the Governor's tax bill, you know the one where they will cut Commercial taxes by 40% and Corporate taxes by 50%. If Hahn & Lofgren vote to reduce these taxes, they will be "Lowering Taxes" and will do so by creating a situation for a huge Residential tax increase. He now has a choice to make, lower Wal Mart taxes and raise all of our residential taxes. For Muscatine, if the average residential value is $100,000.00 it should only Increase the home's tax by about $500.00 per year over present taxes.
Come on Lofgren, put a spin on this one. Are you going to lower GPC's property Tax & Income tax by making me pay the bill and eat a tax increase?
