County jail/prison

Posted in: Muscatine

That sure sounds like you're calling this one more liberal cause.

"other liberal cause" "this one"?   I equate "this one" to be another liberal cause.   No way else to read it.

No way else? Well, I suppose not in your limited-educated mind that we have come to know and understand. I still see no justification for calling the issue (you introduced) "bad".

However, maybe if you could write coherently, you could read coherently: "So I'll say bad and see how they defend the decision." Who is "they"? The jail admins; the Bd of Sups; members here? No one here has offered any opinion on the jail expansion.

BTW, regarding the title of your post....the county does not operate and is not expanding any "prison".

BB, probably shouldn't bother her little head with details. Msmal decided that it was a bad idea and by gawd that's it - no more thought or looking into the whys and wherefores. The thought process(?) is amazing, huh?

Well, I have to agree, JC....ceptin' it is a big head we are dealing with....just like you know who's?

One reason to build or expand was the county HAS to close the work release center on Washington St. and move those prisoners to the main jail, an est. of 20 to 30 people would now be taking up room in the main jail for which the taxpayers are mainly footing the bill. This would exclude federal prisoners and of course their money from the jail, so build or expand the main jail close the work release center and take in federal prisoners and their money to help pay for everyone and help take the burden off the back of local taxpayers. This information was in the Journal back maybe two years ago.
