Actually Nigel, it is rather difficult to tell us apart but if you look closely you might discern that you have ventured down the wrong road.  On the other hand, I choose to take your comments as a compliment.  I just thought that those of you who might have pest problems could post my avatar in your homes and that would drive them all away.  Sort of my good deed for the neighborhood.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Intolerance is one of the most unAmerican things that I can think of. Many years ago our ancestors came to this country in large part due to religious freedom. What has become of us? Laughing like children at intolerant jokes which, despite being admittedly funny, only demean us as a people. I am not a Muslim. In fact I consider myself more spiritual than religious. How many avid anti Muslims have ever read the Koran? Would it surprise you if I told you it is mostly filled with the same stories we were raised on in the Bible? The Jonestown Massacre was perpetrated by a "Christian". Does this mean all Christians are mass murderers? Of course not. 911 was a political attack on the US by one particular faction of fundamentalists. In truth they represent an extreme minority of Muslims. Most of the Muslims I have known are the same kind of hard working people that other Americans are. I say we show these people what America truly is about and welcome them. As long as they are respectful and bother no one then who cares? I would rather we put our efforts toward something positive for the community and stop embaressing ourselves chasing imaginary threats which serve as nothing more than an exuse to display the ugly and bigoted parts of our nature. No doubt I will receive embittered responses to this post but I just had to speak my mind. After all it is a free country......isn't it?

And you have perosnally done a study to show the koran and the bible tell the same stories, or merely repeating the same mantra that others have fed you?

If you can point out a sizeable group of christians, that within the last several hundred years, killed people of an opposing culture or religion, because of and, in the name of their own religion, I will side with you.   Until then, I am suspicious of any religion that, in this modern age, feels a need to war on other religions and cultures.   I don't know of any set of Christian terrorists that cry out "Jesus Christ", or "In the name of God Almighty" just before committing murder.

I don't know of any Christian religion that parades their toddlers dressed as suicide bombers.

I haven't seen any Christians jumping up and down and crying out in joy at the deaths of those from another culture or religion.

Don't tell me it's only a small minority.  We've seen them perform week after week now for many years.

I do know that if we could somehow disarm all muslims in the world, there would be peace.  If we somehow disarmed all jews, there would be a slaughter.  That's all I need to know for now.
