Good morning MO, Ned, and Fraz(if that's okay to address yall)?

I agree first of all with you Fraz, the poilitical smoke has downright run us outta oxygen.

Although Ned, if I had a saw-buck for every time I saw "it" or heard anything similar, I'd have a few more for sure. But as well, we should be ashamed that it's still an issue as part of the forces that help these fools turn our nation into what it's become today. It's WE, the Electorate that stand our ground and allow this phenomonon term after term. Everyone hates the job congress is doing, but for some (unknown) reason "We" Keep puting the same old crew back on the ship. Lord I wish we could get term limits on the ballots. So with that I still agree, politics this term again has run us down.

Fraz...If I had a costume, the youth wiggle into one, the sugar score to eat any of the sweet bounty, (Cadbury goods excluded) and the evening gumtion, I'd go as "Glenda the REALLY OLD Good Witch" That movie offers a bean-bag full of ideas. Already an oldie when I first saw it, I always think of it every All Hollow's Eve. One of the first serious discussions we had in those of my early years during Bible Study, was how wickedly eveil that night is, and that of those Pagan rituals people pay honor, it is perhaps the worst.  In recalling those dark scary nights(we had two days then) folks in our community didn't like to submit to the reality that it was actually an evening set aside to ward off those wicked souls or spirits to who would harm the crops and ensure a good harvest. I felt it was harmless. Today we just feed the little gobblins goodies not to toss bathroom tissue onto our bushes.

I recall the "Cousin It" character, you have been sporting a head of hair of that magnitude? I spent most of my adault life(Too many years) with never longer than shoulder length, wrapped in a ball or bunn style hair. I use to go into the old Sears and Wards catalogs looking through the clothing and styles, thinking that I must look like a "Flapper" I use to think I'd love a head of hair like that wich you describe. The work to maintain it must be extraordinary?

Well my ride will be along soon, happy fright filled Hallows Eve, all.

God Bless.

Most of my adult life, I've had hair long enough to reach my waist if I wear it down.  In my (much) younger days I would go to parties and end up sitting in a chair with my hair pulled over my face pretending to be Cousin Itt, drinking my drink of choice through a Twizzler with both ends bitten off(they make remarkably good straws).  That was between 16-20 years ago, though.  I used to pull my hair over my face and wear a hat for Halloween because my kids found it endlessly amusing.  Can't do it anymore because, even though my hair is the same length it always been, it's gotten really thin.  So now I have to think of something else to dress up as, and I just don't have the energy to figure it out this year.  I'm putting alot of effort into the kids costumes, they're so much more fun when they are homemade.

And, I really like the Wizard of Oz, too.  It's one of my faves.

And, you know, as sick and tired as I am of everybody only seeming to want to discuss politics lately, it's much better than the other extreme.  Better that so many people care about the state of things and care enough to at least have a point of view on how to fix it, than to have mostly everyone not give a damn.  I think the cause of most of the problems we are having right now can be traced back to apathy.  Too many people didn't care enough to watch what was going on.

Afternoon Fraz!

Breakfast was superb this morning! I was typing away so, that I almost missed my ride.

If you're looking for an argument? Nope can't give you one. With you 100%. I think Iv'e used the the word apathy more than "and" throughout my replies/posts. Without trying not to go overboard as I am apt to do. I'll just reiterate that all one need do is look at the past forty eight years. Dems have gone back and forth, repubs have gone back and forth. Bills passed and rejected by that tiny hand full of powerful "used car salesmen" from both sides. But in all fairness, there have been 4 dems in the oval office in all these forty eight years. Ultimately the most powerfully important position known to anyone on earth. With Repubs being in total control nearly 70% of all that time with 7 republicans holding the veto pen in contrast. My point? As you put it so very well......it has to be a chronic case of NATIONAL APATHY.  Or we just wouldn't be in such a terrible mess. I am, like you seem to be... and many others about these pages, just fed up with all the "he said, she said and He didn't, or He did this or that, so vote for me"... rhetoric.  If "we the people" would just say: "Okay, we are  never going to get anywhere this way. So we'll simply remove them all." Sadly, you might lose a few good ones. But heck, you know when we little hellions didn't own up to the wrongs we did, Pappy took to all our hides. One or more of us got what we deserved at least. And we learned a VERY valuable lesson. We either told the truth and saved a collective "rebuffing" or we all took the lumps. Sadly I feel we need to remove them all and start over, and again as you put it,  Apathy seems to be the reason we just keep tossing that same ball over the net even though it's finally a worn out husk. Also as you point out, in so many words that is, if we don't show that we care, how will they ever get the mesage?

I have a powerful respect for Ralph Nader. He isn't wrong by a long shot. But what chance does he stand with this antiquated two party system? He's spot on with the fallacious form of governance we have. Look how close Ross Perot came by showing Americans that we are simply a collective source of revenue for these crooks who only care about a few thousand corporations. We need to do away with the two party "slam-dunk" system and leave out anyone who claims to espouse it in any form.  To show my support for that notion, I'll be undecided and perhaps just write-in a nobody. Neither McCain nor Obama make me comfortable. We either get a guy who thinks he knows how to keep a war alive or guy who thinks he knows how to keep an economy alive. I think Gov. Palin and Sen. Biden should bow out, and McCain and Obama unite. McCain can fight for our military strengths and Obama can fight for our economic and diplomatic strengths. They can play, GOOD COP... BAD COP.  Sounds so silly it might just work. Of course we will need to fire every incumbent and elect an even  Congressional split. I know, I'm just some silly, foolish old gal with not much more to think about but doilies and apple pie. But nothing else seems to be working?

How about a little wig set to fill in the thin(I understand that) area and you can still be Cousin It? I'd just love to see a photograph of your joyful apeasment. If you have one, you could add a photo(descretely of course) in one of your replies. It's been a pleasure to link with you Fraz!

God Bless
