  Here's a great suggestion.

GUN & KNIFE SHOW

Oct 24-26 Waterloo, Waterloo Cattle Congress, McElroy Auditorium On Target Promotions 660-341-1254

Who knows, Sarah Palin might be there. Guns, knives, ammo, outdoorsy wimmins, it don't get any better.

Sarah Palin

Thanks Ned.  While I'm not in the market for any firearms at the moment, the mere possibility that Ms. Palin would put in an appearence is enough to convince me to drive up to Waterloo.  Might also wander around the UNI campus...beautiful this time of year.

I've never been to Colona, Illinois but I have been to Kalona, Iowa and Kalona is a lot like the Amanas except they have REAL Amish people - complete with horse/buggies, shops, a museum or two and of course some antique stores. A little north of Kalona is a cheese "factory" and down the road from there is a grocery that is VERY unique- all basic cooking spices, mixes, very reasonably priced, mostly in cellophane bags. A good way to spend the better part of a day and discover some old-timey good bargains. Enjoy!
