In this particular election, its not about who the best candidate is, its trying to figure out who the lesser evil is.

My concern is the Iraq war, pulling out before its won means we will be there again, my complaint is that Bush Sr. should have finished what he started. Sadam should have been dealt with when we were there the first time. If we pull out now, when we have a foothold and are making progress, and have to go back in we will lose alot more lives regaining that foothold we have now.

I know several soldiers who have come back from Iraq, its not the way the liberal media paints it out to be. A couple of the guys volunteered to go back for another tour. When i asked the one why he wanted to go back, he replied that he believed in what he was doing was worth while.

I think if our media gave an acurrate portrayl of what good we are doing there, there would be more support for the war. But the liberal media has put its spin on it to make us believe what they want us to believe.

The other funny part of it is all the talk about how obama wants tax hikes on people making over 250,000.00 per year. Do u really believe that the dems would raise taxes on themselves? do your really think people like ted kennedy says damn obama your right hell yeah i want you to take more of my families wealth from us...come on people theres alot more poor people and middle class than there are rich, so the most money to be gained is from the middle and lower classes.

While watching a tv clip the other night about buisiness, moving overseas, it was stated that tax rates on american buisiness' was 35 percent. ive not checked this to be accurate but it was stated that foreign countries off 10 percent tax rates, so thats why we are losing companies overseas. So now we have obama wanting to tax these companies even more. So heres a stretch what if we lowered the taxes on these companies like the republicans are always criticized for. what if we dropped thier tax rate to say 15 percent. I'm no scholar but i think we could keep the companies here and they would be able to afford to expand..and who knows maybe wal-mart would buy from those american companies since they could afford to sell thier products cheaper. Imagine that going to walmart and actually finding something that says made in america.

As i said earlier its a matter of choosing the lesser evil. im not a fan of mccain, i think we could have come up with a better nominee. And obama the man who has only spent a whole actual 140 days worktime in the senate. The candidates continue to tell people what they want to hear , and like morons we continue to believe they are telling the truth. These candidates just like most before them have their own agendas and would probaly never get elected if they actually told us the truth about thier agendas.

I sent an email off just a few weeks ago to a local running for office,. In the email i asked the person what his stand on this new smoking ban was and some other tough questions concerning the rights we seem to lose everyday. My wife knows this person personally and actually called this person. He has not answered our email, and has not returned my wifes call as was promised to her.

My take on the smoking ban is this think about this folks. The government came in and said no more smoking in public places. When someone buys a building and opens a buisiness the owner cannot allow any smoking in that building. Well the government doesnt own that building so unless something illegal is going on , the government shouldnt have taken certain peoples rights away. We lose a little more freedom everyday. The freedoms on which this country was founded, the freedoms that our forefathers fought and died for. Its a scary thought folks.

I hear you loud and clear on the lesser of the two evils and I have never in the 28 years of voting have voted and never will vote a straight ticket because I do not agree with either party platform.

If my memory serves me right and I believe it does George H.W. Bush went along with NATO and when they said stop he stopped, as this was a joint effort.

I also know several people that were in Iraq and one was a friends Granddaughter that was promised a education while she was a senior in high school. By the time she was through with her training she was sent in the invasion of Iraq for 364 days. She was one day short of a year so she did not qualify for the benefits. She was told to reinlist if she wanted any of the schooling. I know two other men that pulled their term in Iraq and did not reinlist even though they were offered all kind of things if they would. I really do nit know anyone who reinlisted, but I am sure there were some that did.

As far as the news media not reporting the good things that are happening even Fox ( the fair & balanced network) has reported very little on this and I do check out all of them and that is definitely not a liberal network.

Companies can and do control profits by the amount that is paid to CEO's and stock holders. There are several other ways also so says my tax preparer. My problem is if everything is made overseas how can the American worker without a job buy these products. Go right up the Street to Farm & fleet and check out where their shoes and insulated work wear come from as you may be surprised. I also know as a fact that some of the items in the Davenport store are cheaper than the Muscatine store. Also check out the tires as the price quoted is for the tires only. The mounting, balancing, and stems are extra.

Agendas I completely agree with you on, because they all owe someone for helping get them elected.

On the smoking ban I agree with you because in the Casino's if it is all one big room with out doors separating any of it you can smoke anywhere in the building. I guess those employees are 2ND rate citizens. Also I am sure you have seen the signs at many Restaurants warning people with pacemakers that a microwave is in use and those people have a choice, take a chance or do not enter. If a employee has a pacemaker they have to make a choice keep on working or look for another job.

I see good and bad in both parties and I try to watch all the networks so I can make a informed decision when I step in the voting booth.

I have enjoyed your comments and I do not think we are very far apart in our thinking.

You are right about FOX. And i whole heartedly agree with u about voting along party lines. I vote for who the best person for the job is. I know many people who vote a str8 ticket even if they dont agree with the candidate. The abortion issue is probably the biggest issue, while i dont agree with it, its not my place to tell somebody else what they can or cant do concerning thier own bodies.

Our countries biggest problem is our government is too big and too intrusive in our lives!
